Right off Riverside drive at the Riverfront Front building lies the newly opened Connect Coffee Roasters. This is not your ordinary coffee shop. If you are a coffee lover who enjoys a customized quality cup, then this is your go to place.
Connect Coffee Roasters is quite popular with the laptop crowd and they have positioned their coffee shop quite well by providing ample sockets. It’s a great space to enjoy a cuppa with a friend, for some me time with a book in hand and coffee in the other, for a hang out with friends or simply an office for the day. They even have a discount for students as they are right next to University of Nairobi Chiromo campus. I love Connect Coffee’s simple ambiance, choice of colors; the black, white and brown, glass walls makes for a relaxing environment.
They are open daily from 8am – 8pm. They offer counter service; walk in, make your order, find a spot whether at the high stools overlooking the Mirage, Kempinski or the busy Waiyaki way. Or sit on the low cushiony chairs or long benches. You can either pay at the counter before receiving your order or later because if you are like me you might drink more cups than you originally intended.

Their menu is quite simple, Brewed coffee, cold brew, fresh juices & iced, specially brewed tea, pies, waffles and sushi. For your coffee you select the blend you want from their two options, the romeo blend which combines smoky dark chocolate flavor with nutty flavor or the juliet blend that captures the scent of flowers with fruity flavor.
I visited Connect Coffee with a friend who loves exploring new coffee houses, ordered their delicious Caramel Macchiato and I loved it. It’s never my drink of choice because it’s usually too sweet but this one was made to my liking. My pal ordered the almond vanilla affogato off Connect Coffee’s signature menu. Totally worth it.
If waffle heaven is your thing, then you need to make a date with destiny and in this case Connect Coffee Roasters. They have a happy hour waffle offer, buy one get one free. (EDIT: this article was published when Connect Coffee was just newly opened and therefore any deals eg the happy hour waffle offer only applied then). We ordered the Strawberry and grape waffle topped with whipping cream and ice-cream. Their portions are impossible guys. It was death by waffles, I could barely get through half. I specifically loved the grape one as the strawberries were too sweet for my liking. Four friends ordering just the two waffles would totally make sense.
Went back a second time to try out their brewed coffee selection, I even recorded a video that sadly got corrupted, alongside a couple of photos sorry guys. They brew their coffee three ways and you can either enjoy it hot or cold.

I tried out the Kalita which is has a very bold taste. In comparison to their other brew the Chemex which is a one blend of everything and has a medium body and has bright sweetness I would definitely drink a Kalita any day. Their third brew is the Espropress that I’m yet to try which is heavy bodied and rich in flavor and texture.
This is how the Chemex is brewed in the photos below.
If you are up for some good old cappuccino and a meat pie Connect Coffee Roasters have also got you covered.
I know you are waiting for the part where I tell you how much it costs lol. Their waffles are just Sh850 so during happy hour waffle you pay just for one. Their coffee, teas, juices are averagely priced between Sh250 for a long black to Sh400 for a blueberry yogurt drink.
