Urban Coffee New Menu Sampling (Part 2)

What should you expect if you make your way to Urban Coffee to try out their new menu? (I know, this post is overdue and should have been up last week immediately after I put up part one, but it’s here now so that’s all that matters right?) The good news is, you can check into any of the Urban Coffee restaurants and order something off the new menu. If the food porn that is this photos doesn’t convince you to pay them a visit, nothing I say on here will.

The Urban Breakfast

Their breakfast selection is vast, whether you choose to keep it simple with the urban signature pancakes or their American blueberry pancakes. The East African breakfast including the katogo or Swahili breakfast of mbaazi in coconut sauce, chapatti egg roll, mahamri and samosa. You are sorted.

Break it healthy

A good coffee shop is an oasis for the creative mind – Unknown

Order a fruit platter of pineapple, watermelon, pawpaw, apple, banana bread sticks and yoghurt. Or my favourite urban breakfast banana split with banana, yoghurt, sweet melon, grapes, strawberry and pineapple topped up with homemade granola.

Or have a delicious turkey ham and smoke beef salad comprising of roasted cashews, carrot Julien, lemon grass, pineapple, garlic croutons, beans sprout and cherry tomatoes.395e6515-0ada-4b18-b856-6dfc8af4ceab

For the Pizza lovers

Have you eaten cold pizza and actually enjoyed it. I did at Urban Coffee and it was delicious. Sadly there are only three selections on the menu with the urban meatified pizza securing a special place on my plate. It was very rich in flavor, doughy perfection, melty cheese.

Their bakery section is well stocked from croissant, a variety of pies such as chicken & leek and spinach & ricotta. I do not have a sweet tooth and cakes, muffins are not something I order often. I decided to try out the Urban black forest cake which is my least favourite cake. It was delicious! Moist, fresh and the chocolate was not overpowering as is with other black forest cakes I have tasted.

The Urban Lunch or Dinner Options

Good things come to those who wait and the Urban lamb chops are worth waiting for. Their mash potatoes are officially the best I have tasted in a Kenyan restaurant, creamy, tasty to a point the gravy was unnecessary. Their lunch or dinner menu for someone looking for a little more than bitings is extensive.

Urban Coffee New Menu Sampling (Part 2)

After a week of indulging in burgers for the first ever Nairobi burger fest, it would be a crime to not include the Urban Coffee burgers in this post. Enjoy this delicious stack of urban beef burger at only Sh950.

The Bill

I know you are wondering, how much extra do I have to pay off their new menu? After scrutinizing the Urban Coffee menu, the most expensive item on there was a mixed family kebab platter which serves 3 and it was Sh1600, served with house salad, pesto bread or bruschetta. Lamb loin chops cost Sh 1400. A Taco rubbed baby pork sh1200.
