What better way to start the year than with a timeless list for you guys when the cravings bite. I ate too many burgers over the holidays and this list is strongly influenced by my experience at every of these establishments. I know, I know….new year, healthy you but a good burger once in a while never hurt nobody.

So here goes my list of top five burger joints in Nairobi.
5. Urban Burger
I have been to Urban Gourmet at Westgate countless times and tried quite a number of burger options on their menu. From the big hulk to the Santa Fe. I specifically love the Texas burger egg, bacon, beef >> death by protein! They have ridiculous offers like the crazy Monday deal for buy two burgers for Sh990. Such a good bargain this NJAAnuary.
4. Brew Bistro
Their burgers range from Sh750 for a big 5 veg to Sh1400 for the porker. So if you enjoy a simple classic burger like myself then you better make your way to Brew Roof Top at Fortis tower which is my favorite or Brew Ngong Road. Build your own burger that happens every Tuesday at the Ngong Road branch also sounds exciting.
3. Sierra Brasserie
Sierra is located at Yaya Centre and according to the many rave reviews online, they make some mean steak which treats on a budget is yet to try, but that’s on the to eat list in 2017. One look at the Sierra burger doesn’t give it away as one of the best you will taste in Nairobi Tried out the blue cheese burger and it was delicious, from the taste, texture to the quality of the meat used. They use the dry-aged Angus beef sourced from Marania Farm in Timau.

2. Mama Rocks
If you seriously haven’t had a Mama Rocks burger then you must be living under a rock no? They are located at the Yard aka Alchemist in Westlands. The afro-cool food truck serves up some African inspired gourmet burgers with mama’s flavorful twist. Thinking about the mango Maasai mama as I type this.
1. Burger Hut
Located on Mpaka road Westlands, this establishment is an oldie but goldie. They have maintained standards over the years and I feel that if any of these top places ever disappoint, Burger hut will always come through for you.
