S itting at your office hungry, tired of eating lunch from your food lady and going to the kibanda (food local) is not an option? That was me yesterday. So after rambling for a couple of minutes about how hungry i was, I remembered that just a few meters from my office, there is a cafe I had been meaning to visit located at Fenesi Gardens on school lane.
I quickly checked out Vogue cafe’s website for a menu and pricing and I was sold. A cheap burger and salad midmonth…who doesn’t want a bargain at that time of the month? I had previously visited the Vogue Cafe at Museum a couple of times in 2013, so I was sure the food wouldn’t be crappy.

The cafe is located inside serviced modern apartments
and they are usually open for breakfast, lunch and dinner from 7am-8am. I choose to sit inside the cafe and not on the outdoor pool area since it was I choose to sit inside the cafe and not on the outdoor pool area since it was just a quick lunch and I needed to head back to work.
Their menu is quite the typical simple cafe/coffee house menu, from your favourite pastries, pies, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, baguettes and a couple of options on their main dishes. If you love you some baked minced eat and vegetables, spicy peanut chicken or beef, you definitely need to give them a try.
There were just a couple of people at the cafe, so their service was really good. Attentive friendly waiters, they even care about customer feedback after your meal. I would definitely love to try them on a busy day.
Yaas to the lunch break white cap, cost only Sh250….they also sell shots but sadly they don’t make any cocktails. As for my milkshake, let’s just say I have drank better and more for the same fee.
I ordered a beef, cheese and bacon burger with a side of salad. Sadly not even the bacon could add more life to this burger, the patty failed in the flavour department so for me it was average. I loved the salad as it was fresh needless to say my lunch date almost ate it all despite ordering fries with his burger.
My date ordered the grilled chicken burger and shallots (insert onions) with a side of fries and it was delicious. P.S I love my burger patties beef only… but next time I will order a vegetarian, chicken or anything else on the menu lol for the purposes of review.
The grilled chicken and shallots burger with fries was Sh620 and so was the beef, cheese and chicken. A beer goes for Sh250 while the milkshake was just Sh290. The most expensive item on their menu is the mushroom beef fillet or the grilled medallions with pepper sauce which will set you back Sh890.
Would I go back to Vogue? Yes, it is a very chilled out location to have a beer, meeting, coffee date or a Friday lunch and a drink before heading out. (Their marketing guy is sleeping on the job- I saw potential lol – but that’s none of my business ??) The bar ???
