Put your hand up if the velvet trend has been giving you life lately. Didn’t you just love Taraji P Henson’s velvety slay at the Oscars this year? That navy blue, off the shoulder number was just absolute perfection.
Designers have been crushing on the velvet trend for a while now and it was evident in this years New York Fashion Week. Shoes really took centre stage in 2016. I’m currently obsessing on some designs by Gianvito Rossi. From your favorite pair of velvety moccasins, pumps, sneakers or loafers.

What is your favorite iteration from the velvet trend? Bomber jackets, booties, jumpsuits, pantsuits, dresses or sneakers? Don’t you just love how the designers are really playing with the dramatic hues such as cobalt blue?
So here I was searching for a velvet dress from some of my favorite vendors until I remembered some Mtumba guy(second-hand) who usually sells dope ass clothes along Moi Avenue Nairobi. It was a velvet affair in there when I dropped by. I’m sure when Kenyans catch the velvet trend it will be wild fire.
