Did you take part in Nairobi’s inaugural Burger Fest? Which places did you visit and were their burgers bomb? Whenever one of these food festivals come about, I make it a point to visit restaurants I haven’t sampled before and do it especially on day one.

For Nairobi Burger Festival, I sampled 5 restaurants. Wet Lounge was my first pick strongly influenced by my experience over Nairobi restaurant week and the fact that a decision I regretted but you can read all about it here.
My second stop was Java House Westlands Square branch opposite The Mall. I love this Java because it is never crowded, their service is swift and they serve the best chicken and cheese. The burgers were off their normal menu with the second burger coming with no accompaniments.
Newscafe sarit centre, sadly I didn’t take photos as it was an impromptu lunch and I have visited them a couple of times in the past. Their burgers were really popular over the burger fest period. They were packed to capacity, the service was swift and the burgers were very tasty.
I decided to end burger festival in style by visiting two restaurants at Garden city, Moca Loca and Artcaffe which was serving the Urban Gourmet menu.
Moca Loca had created a special burger fest menu and the choice was buy one burger get another free without a side of fries and also had the Carlsberg offer. I ordered the chips masala as a side to accompany my burger, it was the best masala fries I have had for Sh300.
My boyfriend had the legendary loca which is a double decker beef burger with cheese & avocado salsa topped with crispy bacon for Sh1150. I had the tango burger which is a basic beef and cheese burger topped with crispy bacon. Moca Loca’s burgers on a normal day average between Sh550-850.
