Admit it. You love a cool Instagram feed and the more your followers double tap away the more you want to satiate your hunger for coolest IG pics. So if you are looking for the perfect cafe to give your followers some serious visual inspiration there are some really cool instagrammable cafes in Nairobi. I love a cafe with some great aesthetics as much as my cup of coffee. If they have nailed it with the decor, tons of natural light and their food tastes as good as the Instagram-worthy pics then I’m sold.
Here are my picks for the top 5 instagrammable cafes in Nairobi
1. Wasp & Sprout
You will fall in love with this quirky cafe! I recently visited Wasp & Sprout a few weeks ago for Sunday brunch and did an Instagram story and a couple of guys contacted me asking about the location, menu, prices etc. They are located at Old Loresho shopping centre and have a sign board right at the road so you can’t miss them. They serve coffees, teas, juices, sandwiches, a variety of breakfast dishes, weekend brunch menu, cocktails, wine, beer and daily lunch specials. They are open Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm, Friday till 8pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8:30am to 2pm.
2. Tin Roof Cafe
They have two branches; one at the Souk opposite The Hub and another at Lang’ata Link shops. It is important to note that both cafes are very instagrammable. They are open to fashionistas foodies etc taking photos. Their menu has an array of brunch/quick meal options. From croissants to some eggs benedict, savoury crepes, salad bar, fish pie etc. As for the beverages they offer wine, coffee juices, teas and smoothies.
3. The Arbor Place
Located in the heart of Lavington at 904 James Gichuru road, The Arbor place is an eco-friendly garden cafe, garden centre and marketplace all in one. This charming cafe really does live up to all the hype. The theme of The Arbor is ‘food should taste as good as it looks”. They are open every Tuesday and Sunday 10am to 5pm and every Wednesday to Saturday 10am to 9pm. Whether you are up for some halloumi skewers, or some good Thai green chicken curry, a smoked salmon carpaccio salad or a sinful bite of Nutty Nutella tart, they have you covered.
4. Pointzero Coffee
They are located in the CBD at Nairobi Gallery – corner of Posta Rd & Kenyatta Ave, next to Nyayo house. Pointzero coffee serves breakfast and lunch mainly coffees, delicious pastries, sandwiches and are closed by 6pm. Their set-up is quite simple, open-sided, locally made lawn chairs, covered in ankara fabric and tall potted plants. Did I mention, they serve their coffee in the cutest cups and saucers ever? Also, they have a brewed coffee of the day on their board with a suggestion on the perfect accompaniment. They are open Monday – Saturday 7:30am to 6pm and closed on Sundays.
5. Moca Loca
Moca Loca is located at Garden City Mall in Thika. When you walk into this cafe it definitely takes you back into studio days with the vintage large black and white photos from the 60s and 70s draped on their walls. Their red, black, white and gold theme strongly stands out. They serve burgers, pizzas, salads and pasta.
